Tool Tips & Insights: Where AI Can Help in User Research & CRO
August 11, 2023
AI tools will undoubtedly have a significant role to play in the near future of UX research and conversion rate optimization.
While, for the time being, we neither use AT-driven tools to conduct the user research entirely for us nor work with synthetic users for research or AB tests we find it exciting to observe new developments, experiment with this new technology and use it to speed up specific tasks.
AI-driven tools to simplify and expedite specific user research and CRO-related tasks:
1) uizard: practical features for quick wireframing
Lets you generate alternative text for your mockups, allows you to turn hand-drawn sketches into designs or vice versa lets you render a design like it was hand-drawn, if you prefer user test participants to focus on the functionality rather than the design.
2) ChatGPT: sparring partner for copywriting and hypothesis creation
ChatGPT can help you write copy, such as headlines, product descriptions and landing page sections. You can provide detailed prompts or seek alternatives for your ideas. It also can assist in hypothesis creation by addressing the problem you are trying to solve and your initial hypothesis.
We like to use it to enhance ideation and serve as a creative sparring partner. Exercise caution regarding the suggestions provided, sometimes they sound very generic. Avoid jargon and use insights from your user research to choose words that resonate with your target audience and inspire them.
3) happyscribe: easy transcription of videos & translation of subtitles to other languages
Converts audio to text, adds captions to your video, and what we particularly like, can add subtitles translated to another language than the original audio. This is very helpful when presenting user research to stakeholders who do not speak the language of the user test participants.
All of these are tools we have used at one time or another. We are not affiliated with any of them.
